  2.  Note:  The following letter was made available to UFONET by Dr. Willy
  3.         Smith.  According to Smith, it was originally sent to Jim
  4.         Moseley in confidence.  Subsequently, it was passed on to Ed
  5.         Walters by Moseley, and soon found its way into a number of
  6.         people's hands.  In part, this letter was responsible for some
  7.         of the recent controversy surrounding Smith.

  20.  Dear Jim:

  22.  Here is a copy of one of the photos (the following five words are
  23.  both underlined and darker than the rest of the text - TM) allegedly
  24.  taken by Ed Walters in New York.  Normally, I would have done nothing
  25.  except filing them, but Dr. Vigilio Sanchez Ocejo, who was visiting
  26.  me when the mail brought the photos, suggested that I should get in
  27.  touch with you.  What I did.

  29.  I have only one question:

  31.              DID ED WALTERS TAKE THIS PHOTOGRAPH?
  32.  
  33.    Then:
  34.  
  35.            (a)  if the answer is YES, the sequence will add
  36.  credibility to his story, as it would indicate that the UFO
  37.  events are not related to Gulf Breeze as a location, but to
  38.  Mr. Walters, following him to other places.  In this case, I
  39.  would like to know the exact date the photos were taken.

  41.            (b)  if the answer is NO, the anonymous photographer
  42.  has met the challenge issued by Ed-of-Gulf-Breeze in Vol.13, #5
  43.  of the International UFO Reporter (p.23), when he wrote:

  45.       "I suggest ...  that the best way to cast
  46.               doubt on a UFO photo is to duplicate it."

  48.  If   (b)  is the right answer, Ed's photos have been replicated.

  50.  You can publish the photo if you want to, but (the following nine
  51.  words are underlined - TM) it must be returned to me for further
  52.  study, regardless of what Mr. Walters' answer might be,
